Rosie Smith

Hello, I am Rosie Smith I am a practising midwife and devised the vehicle Womb Services in March 2004,offering study days to midwives, students and childbirth professionals, in an attempt to provide an innovative "learn-as-you-laugh session" that enhance learning, through a demonstrated variety of teaching skills. These study days introduced my own highly original teaching aids and usually focus on the promotion of normality. I have during the fours years presented "Power to the female pelvis", "The use of water during labour and birth","The ways that adults learn and the teaching skills required" at a variety of venues in England, and also introduced midwives to belly dancing which originated for childbirth at some of the presentations - rest assured I was not the teacher, although last year my friends and I did dance at a study day and we called ourselves "Pelvica!"
GroupBStrep-all of the facts and none of the ficition, is a deviation from this format, in that the subject is about a bacteria, and does not lend itself so easily to my usual approach of teaching. It has however stimulated and enabled me to develop new ideas that help retain the information presented, as well as inviting the audience to view the subject through art -another passion of mine!
Away from Womb Services I have a wide variety of interests - scuba diving, cycling, travelling, cooking, cinema, music and many more and firmly believe that life is just far too short not to live it up a little!
